Is organic food more sustainable?
Yellow: Pesticides and nitrogen fertilizer hurts the land and leads to greater dependence on them.
White: Pesticides [1] and fertilizers [2] consumption is certainly increasing.
Black: But we can't support a large population and go completely organic. We need fertilizer and pesticides.
Green: Creating more sustainable farming, will be about finding ways to reducing consumption of fertilizer and pesticides. And decreasing the impact to the
land.
Green: Such as genetically modifying food to contain nitrogen, or using animals to fight pests.
Subtext: I don't particularly hate organic food.
