Black: It's a cold world out, You got to fend for yourself. It's dog eat dog.
Yellow: Is it?
White: Research has shown examples of empathy in the animal world.
White: Such as dogs letting other dogs bit them when they accidentally bite too hard during play.
White: Or magpie birds performing a sort of funereal ritual for a fallen comrade[1].
Yellow: Nature can be compassionate and empathic.
Yellow: We shouldn't use nature as an excuse to justify suffering, or as an excuse for self-loathing.
Subtext: But it's such an easy excuse.
